Philip Harris Transformer Coil -500 + 125 Turns

Philip Harris Transformer Coil -500 + 125 Turns

HE1008311

Product code: HE1008311

Silicon steel C-core and clip with a range of coils for use as inductors and transformers. The approximate inductance values, with and without a complete C-core, are shown in the table below. Current ratings are based on 150A per square cm. The coils will run hot, but will not be damaged by short-term currents of up to twice the stated value.

  • No. of Turns: 500 + 125
  • Air-core: 9mH
  • Wire: 1.45/0.81mm
  • Max Current: 0.25A

Alternative Transformer Coils are also available to purchase separately:

  • B8H26448 - 5000 + 250 Turns
  • B8H26436 - 60 + 60 Turns
  • B8H26461 - 1200 + 1200 Turns
  • B8H26473 - 120 + 120 Turns
  • Key Stage 4 Physics: Electricity: Power transfer related to p.d. and current, or current and resistance
  • Key Stage 4 Physics: Energy: Energy changes in a system involving heating, doing work using forces, or doing work using an electric current: calculating the stored energies and energy changes involved.
  • Key Stage 4 Physics: Magnetism and Electromagnetism: Magnetic effects of currents, how transformers enhance the effect.
